John F. Cuddy, Sr. is a graduate of Siena College (B.A., Political Science), Franklin Pierce University (M.B.A., Leadership), the U.S. Army War College (M.S.S., Strategic Studies), and the Charleston School of Law (J.D.). After completing law school, John earned a certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Dispute Resolution Institute, Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
While attending law school part-time, John worked as a paralegal and office manager for the firm. He also served as a court-appointed guardian ad litem volunteer for Union County, NC. Additionally, John provided non-attorney advocacy for parents and their children during the implementation phase of special education settlements. As a result, he is well-versed in understanding parents’ challenges when dealing with schools.
Before joining the firm, John worked in various management roles in the financial services industry. He retired in 2017 to join the Cuddy Law Firm and attend law school. He is also a U.S. Army retiree, having served 28 years in the U.S. Army Reserves and National Guard. His service included deployments supporting Operation Joint Endeavor (1996) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2008).
John resides in Waxhaw, NC, with Lynn, his wife. Together, they have three grown children.
