Jennifer Gemmel is an attorney at the firm’s Westchester Office. Jennifer is a graduate of Cornell University (B.A. in Science and Technology Studies) and Fordham University School of Law. While at Fordham, Jennifer was a legal intern in the Family Advocacy Clinic, where she was part of a team that advocated for special education students in New York City against the New York City Department of Education. After graduating Fordham, Jennifer joined a law firm where she advised and represented many school districts, in student discipline hearings, including manifestation meetings. Jennifer also represented districts in appeals to the New York State Commissioner of Education, and advised school districts on responding to record requests pursuant to FOIL and FERPA. After being exposed to special education Jennifer sought to focus her practice on representing students with disabilities. Jennifer’s practice focuses on special education litigation.
