Special Education Law

Cleveland Special Needs Girl Helped by Cuddy Law Firm

KNOW YOUR CHILD’S RIGHTS!

Your child is your life.

So what happens when your child with special needs isn’t progressing in reading? What happens when the school district decides to take services away? What happens when the school isn’t following your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)?

You don’t have to tolerate a school neglecting its special education obligations. You have recourse to secure what’s best for your child and their future.

Federal laws like the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) entitle your child to special education services. If the school district makes bad decisions, you can get a special education attorney to help you stand up to them.

The Cuddy Law Firm focuses on special education law. We take great pride in empowering parents to advocate for their children’s rights.

We can help with any of these matters and more:

Trust your instincts as a parent. Under IDEA, children with disabilities should get a “free appropriate public education,” or FAPE. If you think your child isn’t receiving the educational services he or she needs, let our lawyers help.

We can start by providing a consultation on your situation.

Cuddy Law Firm Leadership & Team

Andrew K. Cuddy began working as a special education lawyer in 2000 to meet an increasing demand for special education representation for children and families. In 2010, Michael J. Cuddy, Jr., joined his brother Andrew in their Auburn, NY, office.

In 2012, with the need for special education legal services continuing to grow, we opened an office in Westchester, NY, formally establishing the Cuddy Law Firm as it is known today.

In addition to special education cases, the New York offices handle special needs planning, trust administration and assistance with Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) applications and appeals.

And our firm now operates in multiple states. Our leadership includes managing attorney Joseph Sulpizio in our Philadelphia, PA, office.

With our expanded reach across the country, our special education attorneys can represent parents and children in many states. We are committed to serving families, including many under-served populations.

If you need help resolving a special education matter, that’s what our law firm was created to do.
