On May 21, 2020, Governor Cuomo announced that summer school programs will continue to be provided through distance learning, and will not take place on school campuses. This means that students who are entitled to summer services on their individualized education programs will continue to receive instruction and service through virtual, or distance, learning.
In addition, Governor Cuomo announced that school districts should be receiving health and safety protocols in June, for the potential opening of schools in September.
If your child is entitled to summer services, we continue to encourage you to talk to your school district about any concerns or questions you may have about how these services will be provided to your child during the summer, let your school district know issues you and your child have with instruction and/or services including during summer months, and continue to document these issues as you may be entitled to make-up services.
We at the Cuddy Law Firm understand this is a difficult time, and we are here to help with any questions or concerns you have.
