Sonja D. Kerr is an attorney in the Firm’s Austin office and also serves as the Firm’s Director of Impact Litigation. She represents parents in special education litigation.
Sonja is a graduate of Northwest Nazarene University (B.A., psychology, summa cum laude), Purdue University (M.S., Counseling Psychology) and Indiana University School of Law (J.D.), where she participated in the Jessup International Moot Court. She has represented parents of children with a wide array of special needs in twelve states and has experience litigating on behalf of parents with limited English proficiency. She has published chapters and articles on special education in professional journals and law reviews and is a frequent speaker on disabilities-related topics. Prior to joining the Firm, Sonja was employed as the Director of Disability Rights for the Public Interest Law Center in Philadelphia.
Sonja is the daughter of a deaf parent and the sister of a person with epilepsy and learned about disabilities firsthand early in life.
